THE FASHION TELLER: Femme Fatale “Morgane Le Fay”

Morgane Le Fay was the most powerful sorceress during the times of King Arthur. She possessed a gifted intellect and many abilities such as her ability to mystically manipulate the environment, cast illusions, project mystical bolts, create mystical force shields, transform into other shapes, and remove spirits from their bodies and place those spirits under her control.

A great battle was waged between two very powerful sorcerers bringing the world into complete chaos. It was as if the world was about to end as the earth trembled and the mountains crumbled. Morgane Le Fay will not surrender until the powerful Merlin is defeated. This evil enchantress will continue to fight until her wicked appetite is sated.

THE FASHION TELLER: FEMME FATALE CAST

“MORGANE LE FAY” – Wicca Merlin

http://thefashionteller.wordpress.com/

FASHION DESIGNER: The talented team behind NV Corsetry, Alexandra Nichols and Khurt Vhargon, have been making realistic and extremely detailed corsetry and outfits in Second Life. They created an outfit that is fierce and powerful for the Femme Fatale character, Morgane Le Fay. Picture above is not the actual outfit.

We can’t wait to present all the fantastic outfits in Femme Fatale Story Book this weekend. We will have a fashion show as well in the next couple of weeks to present The Femme Fatale collection. All the designers really have outdone themselves in making new amazing outfits for the characters. Thank you designers.

MODEL: When we decided to cast for the Ultimate Sorceress and Enchantress, Morgane Le Fay, we could think of no other model who is fierce and just fits perfectly well with the persona than Wicca Merlin. She has the look and talent that is magical and enchanting. Wicca has been a standard pillar in SL Modeling World for 4 years and she is still at the top of her game. Her talents extend beyond modeling to photography and blogging among many things. We are proud to have her in Femme Fatale to play Morgane Le Fay: A dark and powerful sorceress that has a deadly combination of beauty and power. Wicca is joined by Todd Anton who will play Merlin, The Great Wizard.

Femme Fatale will be released this weekend.

LOVE GAME by Lady Gaga

Let’s have some fun, this beat is sick
I wanna take a ride on your disco stick.
Don’t think too much, just bust that kick
I wanna take a ride on your disco stick.

I can see you staring there from across the block…
With a smile on your mouth and your hand on your (huh!).
The story of us, it always starts the same…
With a boy and a girl and a (huh!) and a game.

Let’s play a love game.
Play a love game.
Do you want love?
Or you want fame?
Are you in the game?
Dans, the love game.

New Male Suit at R:A:D:

There is a BRAND NEW Designer in Second Life that you must check out because of his very edgy and totally unique designs.

Redclaw Inshan, a fantastic  new designer of R:A:D: Red Alert Designs is debuting his totally awesome designs with this FIERCE new suit for men. The “Dragon” suits come in three bold colors: Red, Purple and Silver. It is totally unique and can be worn in any event that you want to be noticed. This complete outfit comes with a shirt, jacket, belt, vest and shoes. It is a daring suit that combines high fashion and adventure.

I am modeling the complete Silver Dragon Suit above. As you can see, the fit is exemplary and displays the contours of the body very well. It is a handsome suit that you can wear almost anywhere, whether a formal event or an adventurous outing. I love the flexibility of this suit. No matter where you are and for what event, you will surely turn heads.

The Red Dragon Suit I am modeling above is just fantastic. I took off the jacket so you can see the amazing vest inside. Note the sharp contrast of the colors and how it shows the body well. This is not your boring basic black suit. The textures and folds make this suit look so realistic that you can almost feel it with your hands. Check out the little details such as the intricate Asian Patterns on the Jacket, Vest and Pants. The dragon prints add a touch of adventure and mystery which makes this outfit so unique.

.

Take a closer look at the shirt and observe the great detail that is put into the texture, folds and patterns. I love the pinstripe design of the shirt with the cool buttons. I really love that dragon design as well because it adds character to the suit. It has a very masculine appeal that surely the ladies will love and make some men envious. If you want to put some edge and fierceness in your formal wear, then look no further.  Be BOLD and DARING!

Check out Red Alert Designs R:A:D: http://slurl.com/secondlife/LM%20Maldives/56/198/22

Keep an eye out for more amazing new stuff from Redclaw Inshan. I had the privilege of seeing in advance some of his new items and they are mind blowing.

Body Talking by Arisia Ashmoot for all your Runway, Photography & Custom Poses

Body Talking by Arisia Ashmoot is one of my very favorite pose store for my Modelling and Photography needs.
Body Talking seems to be the perfect name because it seems like Arisia can talk magic to the body and create just the perfect pose with such ease of movement. These poses are perfect because it is smooth and free flowing as it transitions. It also does not distort the body or the clothing being modelled. There are many wonderful and unique poses to choose from at the store. If you want very specific poses, Arisia can tailor make it just for you and make sure it is perfect to your needs. Arisia is one of the pose makers who really helped me with Mister Virtual World. My Egyptian and Finale Outfits were fabulous but it had sooooo much prims that every single movement was very detrimental to the contest as it can easily go inside the body. With a contest like MVW, a single prim going inside the body is like suicide. LOL. Arisia took days to custom made the poses one by one just for me and even adjusted each one during the “outfit/poses” fitting. So, If you have a special event that you want to blow everyone away with unique perfect poses, consider to custom made them. Arisia is one of the very few pose designers who will do it for you.

CONFESSIONS MODEL SPOTLIGHT: Wicca Merlin

There is a fresh model in 2009 who took the SL Fashion World by storm. Her stardom shined so bright because of her hard work and dedication to modeling, as well as her very unique fashion sense and amicable attitude. Her name and face are easily recognizable whether you see her on the magazines or in the runway. Wicca is not afraid to be different but still remains fashionable. She turns heads and is the center of attention wherever she goes. Her modeling resume is a dream for many but only a few can achieve. She is in all the top agencies right now including AVENUE, Boulevard, EIMA, Diversity, ModelX, GIA, OPIUM, Catalyst of Fantasy, L.A. Modeling Agency, TOMA and others. She graduated from the best modeling academies in SL such as Neiva Kumasi, GIA-Glance International Academy and AVENUE Academy.

She is truly an extraordinary person and that is why we are so happy to spotlight her. Please give her some love.

Q. Please tell us about yourself and how you ventured into the modeling industry.

WM: My Avatar was born on January the 31th in 2007. I was in SL exploring a lot for a long time. One day, I searched for a new challenge and I met an old friend of mine at Stilleto Moodys. We talked a bit and she told me that she is a model. I asked her a whole lot about modeling . A few days later, I met another 2 old friends and saw in their profiles that they are models too now, so I thought to myself that I was always interested in styling and fashion in RL so I decided to try my luck in modeling. I started with JCNY and signed on at the Glance Academy. After that, My modeling career took off and it went better from day to day!

Q: Please tell us about some of your accomplishments within the modeling industry and describe what would be one of the most defining moments of your modeling career.

WM: I am not sure if it is an accomplishment but I found that I love training and helping others whether if they are aspiring models, friends or people who asked me for advice. I am very grateful as I was helped when I started my way into modeling. I am very happy that I am allowed to train others for GLANCE now. I am very proud to see my students make their way in the SL modeling industry. For example: When I see a show and see a model that I trained at GLANCE Academy, that gives me great pride and joy. 😉

Also it is great to see yourself in magazines or on store adds. Those are very great moments for me and I feel so lucky that I am allowed to do that 🙂 Maybe I am not one of the “usual” models. I have edges and I dare to show them some unique and fierce fashion styles. I am a perfectionist always. I am never satisfied with what I do and always try to make it better the next time. Maybe that is one of the reasons that brought me as far as I am. I am never sure where I am in any rankings. I never think about if I am a “Top” Model. I am a model that loves her work. 🙂

I walked in lots of fashion shows. I had the great honor to be in different magazines like Glance Magazine, Avenue Magazine, Catalyst of Fantasy Magazine and a few more. I was lucky as I was asked to store model for different stores and I was given great jobs on some agencies as a trainer, stylist , blogger or etc…
Overall, I have to say that I am a very lucky girl who is very grateful for all the opportunities to do something that I enjoy very well.

Q: You have certainly established yourself well within the modeling industry. Please tell us what you believe are the essential elements to being a successful model. Do you have any advice for aspiring models?

WM: The industry itself for me is an everyday growing challenge. There are many models out there and the jobs are limited. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be picked for modeling jobs in SL. It is not enough I think to have just a pretty avatar to survive for a long time. You have to network all the time and not even in world. For me it is not much different to the RL fashion industry, I think it comes pretty close.
I think that one of the most important things is to be yourself…never lose your personality. Not one job can be as important that you disown your character or yourself. Dare to be you with your character, personality and even with your own style. What I noticed is that many aspiring models try to copy well known ones. I think that is the wrong way. They are well known in the business and they use it cause they once started as what they are…so we don’t need clones of them I think. Better respect their work and try to make your own way and style. You can ask them I think for help and advices but don’t copy them by skin , shape and other things..that makes no sense.

Also, I am afraid to tell you but you have to have a good PC. All the runway shows for example will request a high running PC with a good hardware. If you think that modeling is a way to make money and get famous…forget it. It will cost you lindens to be always up to date on the latest releases. You will be ask to match your outfits with a wide assortment of skins and accessories.

Be yourself and make your own way. Don’t jump on a running train that left already..better to be the first that jumps on the new upcoming train 😉

Q: What do you like and dislike about modeling?

WM: I like that I can be creative and that I am allowed to show designers all the hard work and creativity whether on the runway, print jobs or with blogging. Also, it is great to share your likings with all the models close to you or working with you in the same agencies. It is amazing if you make contacts to designers and you are told that you are the one they like to show their designs on. Those are moments that open my heart and I am sure that it is the right way and I am right in what I do.

What I definitely don’t like is all that drama that is always around. People are jealous on others success and can’t be happy for them. For myself, I have very rare close friends I share my accomplishments with. But in general, I try to be quiet because I am scared always that someone will be jealous and tries to “hunt my head”. Sometimes that makes me sad but all the nice and great moments take all that away…:-)

Q: Finally, please tell us what motivates you to be a model. Who inspires you the most and what is your inspiration?

WM: It is because I love everything about modeling. Training, styling, mix and matching designs, be a little crazy sometimes, be creative, do pictures, get pictures done…that all I am allowed to combine in the modeling job. The feeling that I am on the right way with what I do and all the lovely people that greet me every day or ask me for my advice or for help…they motivate me a lot!

I get my inspirations from RL and SL…all that I see I take in my mind and there are different ways to bring them in. If it is music, lyrics, magazines, talking to other people…all that can be inspirations which you can use if they fit.

Q. Please feel free to share anything else you wish to add such as any additional comments etc.

WM: SL is an amazing possibility to be what you want to be. You can show off your style anyways what you are in RL. You can show your sense for fashion on a body that can be changed for what it needs…I think it is a great opportunity.
Further, I would like to thank Rico and Mikey, for the honor to let me be a part of such a great row of amazing models before me and I am sure after me in the Confessions Model Spotlight.

CONFESSIONS Agency Spotlight: GLANCE INTERNATIONAL AGENCY GIA

GIA

GLANCE | International Agency
http://www.glance-international.com

GIA is a full service Fashion Public Relations Agency based in Second Life™ offering fashion-related photography and graphic designs, style consulting, fashion shows coordination, fashion designers promotion, model academy and modeling career development. It is a highly respected and very successful agency spearheaded by CEO’s Patty Cortes and Morgane Nyle. GLANCE Model Academy with Academy DEAN Wicca Merlin and knowledegable instructors provide a one on one education structure that is tailored to the learning needs of the student. I myself am a recent graduate of GIA, and I enjoyed the very informative experience.

We asked CEO Patty Cortes, as most of you want to know, what it takes to be a GIA model.

Q: What attributes must a model possess in order to gain admission into your agency?

PC: In the past months, we did receive countless applications from models wanting to join our agency and although we are honored that so many people think of us to kick off or pursue their career, we had to stop accepting new models into the agency. The reasons are many.

First of all, we strive to bring a real amount of work to our model roster so they all can add more experiences to their resume. Secondly, we enjoy working close with a handful models which requires us to be regularly in touch with the same models. Indeed, they know how to carry the spirit, professionalism and general feel of GLANCE International Agency. They know how we work and it makes the usual preparation much faster and easier. Lastly, because after months in business we did raise our standards for those to be admitted among us and those high criterion are not met by just anybody. We are selective and getting your ticket into GLANCE International Agency means that you have been through numerous fashion shows, that you excel in the field of runway walk and that you have a real personality. Many people forget that in SL everybody can be beautiful, that is how you interact with the others and the impressions you leave on people that will make you stand out from the crowd. All the models who are accepted in our exclusive pool are meeting excellence standards set by the agency.

Q: Is a potential candidate for your agency required to undertake training specifically with your model academy?
PC: Potential candidates are absolutely not required to undertake training specifically with our model academy and if you ever get told that you must pay an affiliated academy to join an agency, just run away! This would be a total scam. We recruit new models regardless of where they have been trained, our criterions are based on much different standards. As I always say to people approaching me on this matter, GLANCE Model Academy and GLANCE International Agency are two different concepts. The first teaches you, during one-to-one classes, the tips and tricks of the industry. You do pay to learn everything from the etiquette to the techniques (how to walk the catwalk) and to make sure that once you graduate you can get a job anywhere. We do even have a post-graduate group where we share information on on-going casting calls and pageants to maximize the success of our graduates’ career. The second, GLANCE International Agency is reserved to those who meet our standards as explained above and graduating from us does not necessarily gives you all the qualities we are looking for in an applicant. While we have, on the record, people who did totally amaze us during their graduation show, who did a successful interview to join us and who are now pursuing and getting high position within our agency, we do also have people who were not accepted and got asked to apply at a later date because they did not impress us and did not take their training seriously.

Q:There is a general perception amongst models that some agencies only hire those who have established a reputable name for themselves, whether it be with a top-tier agency or otherwise. Is this important to you? Model training aside, are you willing to take a chance on a model who is new to the industry?

PC: We do not go by invitation because we believe someone should join a reputable agency based on his hard work and presentation, not thanks to his network. Anyone who meet our standards can join our agency even today! We are willing to enroll fresh faces because at GLANCE International Agency, we believe being a newcomer is not necessarily something bad. Just like the famous saying, you only have one chance to make the first impression. Make sure to give a memorable one!

WE thank Glance International Agency and Patty Cortes for letting us interview her and offer insight into GIA.
