Celebrating PurpleMoon’s 3rd Anniversary we are holding a photo and live runway contest to give one lady the opportunity to become “The Essence of PurpleMoon”. We are looking for someone who can represent the essence of PurpleMoon.

We want to find the elegance, glamour and magic that PurpleMoon has been offering for these three years. We want to see the heart and soul of PurpleMoon represented in your picture. It’s about great style, beauty and class. But most of all, it’s about getting to see our brand through your eyes. If you would like to become our face please join us, submit your pictures and a group of judges will decide who shall be the one … “The Essence of PurpleMoon 2013″.

Rules:

[1] Join PurpleMoon Creations in world group.
[2] Join “the ♔The Essence of PurpleMoon™♔” group in Flickr: www.flickr.com/groups/essenceofpurplemoon/
[3] The photo can be taken by yourself or somebody else (Please credit the photographer in the description). You have to wear an outfit from PurpleMoon or a mix&match of PurpleMoon designs but no group or hunt gifts are allowed.
[4] The photo must be 1024×1024 pixels or higher but always in 1.1 ratio and must be submitted to the Flickr group. (No pictures sent inworld will be accepted)
[5] You are allowed to submit up to two (2) pictures. One face shot and one full body shot. Rename the pictures “The Essence of PurpleMoon” -”Your Name”.
[6] No logos, signs or names are allowed on the photographs.
[7] We reserve the right to remove from the pool any images that don’t follow these rules.
[8] By posting your pictures in the group you are giving PurpleMoon Creations all the rights to use those pictures for promotion, advertising, etc.
[9] Each month, six monthly winners will be chosen to compete in the Essence of PurpleMoon semi-finals in mid-October. This will be an in-house styling show and personal interviews. Ten finalists will be chosen at this event.
[10] The ten finalists will compete in the Essence of PurpleMoon finals in November. A panel of judges will select the top three winners. More details about what to prepare for the final will be given to the finalists.
[11] Winners will be chosen by a panel of judges to be announced.

Schedule:

Month One: Begins on June 20th, 2012 and ends midnight July 19th, 2012. Winners announced by June 30.
Month Two: Begins on July 20th, 2012 and ends midnight August 19th, 2012. Winners announced by August 30.
Month Three: Begins on August 20th, 2012 and ends midnight September 19th, 2012. Winners announced by September 30.
The semi-finals will take place in mid-October (date/time TBD)
The finals will take place in early November (date/time TBD

Prizes:

Each of the six monthly winners will receive L$2500 in store credit from PurpleMoon, their pictures will be published in magazines and display at PM Main Store and they will receive some special gifts from our sponsors.
Miss Essence of PurpleMoon 2013 will receive L$50000 cash prize and will receive all releases of the year of her reign as the face of PurpleMoon. She will represent the brand in many advertising images for magazines, in store posters and other media, and will be invited to participate in the upcoming fashion shows.
She will receive the official crown custom made by Yula Finesmith from Finesmith Designs and the official title of “Miss Essence of PurpleMoon 2013”. She will also receive the official portrait & body photo by the photographer Magissa Denver.
The winning pictures will be published in magazines and display at PM Main Store and she will receive many special gifts from our sponsors.
There will be also prizes for 1st and 2nd runner ups and for the winners of “The best in…” categories.

Model Spotlight ~ Dancer Dallagio

I am pleased to present the next Confessions of an SL Top Model Spotlight ~ Dancer Dallagio.

We all know this wonderful women. Not only is she Stilleto Moody’s right hand woman at Stiletto Moody Shoes, but she is a talented model to boot. Her grace, charm and wit livens up a room. Dancer has always been someone I look up to and I am honored to have worked with her. I still talk about the great times even now.

So, please, join me in welcoming Dancer Dallagio as our Model Spotlight. 🙂

JT. Please tell us about yourself and how you ventured into the modelling industry.

DD. First, let me say how very honoured I am to be asked to do this interview! My first venture into runway modeling was doing a show for Eshi Otawara on the Paisley Beebe show. Prior to that I had done some print work for Stiletto Moody and Baiastice/BehaviorBody. I also did some RFL and Maseno charity runway shows about the same time, and had been a fashion show stylist since 2008. I entered the Miss Virtual World 2010 competition, and had a crash course in modeling :). This led to more runway shows, more print work, and invitations to Model Agencies. Now, I’ve got a lot of experience with all facets of modeling, from being featured on the cover of Runway Magazine, being featured in several issues of BOSL Magazine, Too Sexy Magazine, vendor ads, magazine adverts, and many many runway shows. I take my work quite seriously, but I also love to have fun with the great people that I have the pleasure of working with.

JT. Please tell us about some of your accomplishments within the modelling industry and describe what would be one of the most defining moments of your modelling career.

DD. From being voted a Top Ten Finalist in MVW 2010, named one of the Ten Most Elegant Women in Second Life, to being featured in vendor and store magazine advertisements in most major publications in SL, having clothes and jewelry made especially for me by fantastic designers, being photographed by some of the best photographers, working with many of the best models and agency staff/heads, I’m still growing within the industry, and I think every single moment is a defining one. I love showcasing the work of the amazing talents we are fortunate to have here in SL, and the creativity of the sets and choreography are just fantastic. I’m also now teaching modeling, which is so wonderful to share what I have learned with others. I’m still learning every day and loving it!

JT. You have certainly established yourself well within the modelling industry. Please tell us what you believe are the essential elements to being a successful model. Do you have any advice for aspiring models?

DD. I think the main thing to have is a good sense of style; if you have this, you can learn the rest. Most facets of modeling can be taught, but a sense of style is like a sense of rhythm or music to a dancer–you really need these to be successful. You also need patience, humility, a certain grace, and the willingness to learn and grow. My best advice for aspiring models is to define your unique look whilst remaining true to yourself. We are all people behind our barbies and there are great friendships and knowledge to be had by remembering this.

JT. What do you like and dislike about modelling?

DD. I really love being able to use my fashion eye to showcase a designer’s creation in the best way that i can; to me, it’s all about making that design look well and promoting sales for the creator. The excitement of being on a stage is pretty terrific, too, just as it is for a ballet performance. Each show has great energy. I also really love being in promotional adverts and photos to represent a given design–this is so fantastic to think that the designer trusts me not just to take a design down a runway, but also to sell the actual product. 🙂 I suppose the only thing i dislike would be a lack of professionalism, but I’ve been very lucky in this so far.

JT. Finally, please tell us what motivates you to be a model. Who inspires you the most and what is your inspiration?

DD. My motivation is from a love of fashion and performance. I once was pulled aside by a designer who thanked me for really showcasing her design instead of myself, and I was so thrilled. Whilst I’m definitely “me” with my own unique style, I’m primarily there to be whatever look the designer wants and will make their design look fantastic. I am inspired by so many, from RL designs to SL designs, classical dancers, and models. In SL: Kay Fairey, Mui Mukerji, Blackbarbie Bravin, Barbarella Fuosing, Mimmi Boa, Miaa Rebane, Sora Tatham, Agtaope Carter, Natasja Schumann, Mavi Beck, Sabine Blackburn, all of the MVW contestants, Linnda Scofield, Payton Heron, Wicca Merlin, all of the models from Agata Agency, Avenue, BLVD, BeStyle, EIMA, Evane, ModelX, Premiere, Modavia, Opium; pretty much everyone! If I listed all of the names, I would fill up pages and pages…I learn from everyone and anyone, and love the bonds that form from being together in shows.

JT. Is there anything else that you would like to add?

DD. I’ve been working in fashion and perfomance most of my life, and I am so thrilled to be continuing that in SL. I adore creativity, and this is a fantastic niche to be a part of. A huge thank you to everyone who has helped me come this far and who will help me continue to grow.

OUR MISS AND MISTER WINTER

STEP 1 – RULES OF COMPETITION

1. Fill an application – Application dead line : 15th DECEMBER 2009
2. Submit 1 Headshot FULL PERM, the size of the photography is 512 X 512 (square)
3. You have to send the application form and your picture in a folder named “SUPERELITE SUPERSEARCH 2010 – Your Name Entry” to Angelik Slade AND Phillip Dollinger. Send to both !
4. SuperElite reserves the right to disqualify if the rules mentioned are not respected

STEP 2 – 25 female and 25 male Models will be selected from these entries for a live audition callback. Models should wear a Casual then a Formal outfit and style themselves in a way they believe represents the image of Fashion. This first live audition will be a runway walk.

1st live audition : 18th DECEMBER 2009 – Two casting times : 12 PM or 3 PM SLT

PAY ATTENTION : There will be NO rescheduling of casting auditions made for individuals. So please mark these days and times if you are interested in joining.

STEP 3 – You will receive an invitation to join “SuperElite SuperSearch” Group. You will have to be in this group to join the contest because all notices and results will be announced in this group.

STEP 4 – Pool will narrow down to 20 Models from this first live audition : 10 females & 10 males. Those finalists will enter in the finalists group then have to prepare their second live audition based on a theme (example : “A summer under of the delights of east”).

2nd live audition : 16th JANUARY 2010 at 1 PM SLT

PRACTICES DAYS FOR THIS LIVE AUDITION, AND SO THE ELECTION SHOW OF MISS AND MISTER WINTER, ARE NOT OPTIONALS ! If you think that you can’t come to these rehearsals, don’t submit !! A model that will miss one of these dates will be dismissed from the contest !

STEP 5 – The finalists will walk in a public runway show, wearing their own composition, each participant will have to show his faculties of imagination, creativity and style, as well as his professional capacities and modeling skills. It is all about the beauty you create with your meticulous care of yourselves and your wardrobe. Your professionalism and your dedication.

Models will be judged by a panel of professionals in the modeling and fashion industries, not only on their skills to represent the subject/theme but also on their practice and techniques of the runway.
At the end of this audition, the jury will then choose the female and male Model which will have best known how to find the perfect symbiosis of the professionalism, the elegance and the beauty and showed the qualities waited to be the brand image of the SuperElite Modeling Agency.
The 2 winners will be crowned as “Miss (season)” and “Mr. SE (season)”.

The Tres Beau of 2010 is LAUNCHING

On December 11th, 2009, ▶▷ Kimmera Madison ◁◀ CEO/Designer and the entire staff of Tres Beau proudly invite you to join her at the Grand Opening Fashion Event of the newly reconstructed Tres Beau sim. This inaugural celebration will showcase a myriad of Tres Beau designs flaunted by Opium Modeling Agency models, as only they can exhibit them. These designs are sure to thrill you, with their stunning, custom textures, unique sculpted prims, and Kim’s fanatical attention to prim fit and finish. These motifs, while richly detailed, are very affordable and will be seen in shows, and clubs, throughout the SL Metaverse shortly. Each guest in attendance will receive a VIP giftbag containing a souvenir Show Program/Catalog incorporating pics of every Tres Beau design in the show, as well as a bunch other of fun goodies. Also, during the show random give-aways of other surprises will happen spontaneously. If you so desire you will be able to buy these Tres Beau creations directly from the Show Program/Catalog. Additionally, given the nature of this affair and the SL media present, guests can expect to find themselves chronicled in SL’s fashion media and, perhaps, even interviewed. Please arrive early and plan to stay for the party following the show.

Months of designing, terraforming, landscaping, custom texturing and building are culminating with the opening of the pristine, new Tres Beau Fashion and Wedding boutiques. The Grand Opening fashion show will highlight Tres Beau’s haute couture and wedding lines. Tres Beau has developed, and produced, over the past 5 years many formal gown designs for contenders in some of SL’s most prestigious, beauty pageants including the 2010 ♛Miss Virtual World♛ contest. Several of the 2010 ♛Miss Virtual World♛ contestants have chosen Tres Beau as the designer of their unique, show gowns. Ms. Madison was selected to design ♛2009 Miss Virtual World♛ Mimmi Boa’s gown for this year’s passing of the tiara. These designs will be sold, for a short time, as limited editions after being named in honor of the 2010 ♛Miss Virtual World♛ contestant who wore them first. While we’ve been redecorating the sim, Kim has been busy designing new lines of elegant, Tres Beau fashions. These new products run the gamut from spectacular evening wear, to playful, party outfits, to accessories, jewelry, shoes and boots that rival the best available in SL.

Kimmera Madison’s Tres Beau is one of SL’s oldest, high fashion, design destinations. On a historical note, ▶▷Kimmera Madison ◁◀ was an SL beta tester back in the day. Her rezzday is 7/1/2004. In 2010 Tres Beau will be startling, energizing, and enthralling, the fashionistas of the SL fashion world with a continuous stream of new women’s releases and, what are sure to be, trendsetting men’s fashions as well. The Tres Beau group will announce these well in advance and offer frequent specials for its members.

Talon Faire has been at the same location for the past two years. In that time we have had limited success with ladies fashions and home decor. The Eyelash! Bar has been a huge success though and finally Talon Faire is receiving recognition and even a modicum of acclaim.

Recently I was interviewed for Affinity Magazine and will be featured in the next issue. You can imagine my excitement! But more than anything it is the feeling of knowing folks are enjoying my creations enough that they are wearing them.

My name is Tia Ryba and I am the CEO of TnT Modeling Agency/Academy.
I am working with Lexie Jansma of Siren Productions to produce the Menswear Fashion Week, in association with KMADD, that will run from January 8th to 16th.

This is a major event, that will receive serious attention from the men’s fashion industry. We have received over 80 positive responses so far from designers. We are a professional team and we are only interested in professional, committed male models.

These are paying shows at 200L/show.

All models must have some runway experience and must be able to communicate well in English.

If you have male models within your agency who you think might be interested please have them contact me. This is not model recruting for TnT Modeling. These models will all be put into a group for these events under Siren Productions and then will more than likely be released from the group following the events.

We have approx 25 plus shows already scheduled so WE NEED MALE MODELS. There may also be a call for a few females for a Red Carpet show etc., but we will put that call out when we know how many we need.

Aeris Shenlin, owner and designer behind the stunning creations of Smooth Designs, came into Second Life in late 2006 and “fell right through the screen”, as one of her friends puts it.

She began building about four months later, starting off with mysterious artifacts, however finding the market for the holy grail was small she then veered into a full range of costumes. Having made quite a name for herself in these 3 years, Aeris’ designs, both jewelry and costumes, are loved for their attention to detail and realism. In this time she has created over 300 role-play costumes and dresses, and over 250 pieces of jewelry, and a few cottages and castles to throw in the mix.

Much of her inspiration has come from childhood memories of watching her mother beautifully create silk art work and growing up around such beautiful clothing.
