I have been on Second life for four years now and I have to thank SL for making me tougher and braver than what I was. When I first came to SL, I was painfully shy, very trusting, very giving and just a pushover. I was afraid to talk to people and I was a doormat for most to step on. The past couple of years have really opened my eyes to how horrible people can be especially when they hide behind their avatars, feeling no responsibility for their actions. I’ve been betrayed in the most horrible way. I’ve been humiliated and shamed. I’ve met plenty of fake friends who values more on what they can get out of you than anything else. I’ve met liars who spread filth all over the grid, not caring what their words do. And many others… But I learned that No one can hurt me unless I allow them to. I learned to not care what others say about me because these haters are not important in my life. I refuse for anyone to have any power over me especially in a Virtual Game. I don’t care who you are and how high and mighty you think you are….I won’t bow to anyone but I also won’t look down on anyone. I give respect and praise when it is earned. I will confront and fight if you do me wrong. I treat everyone equally. I’m not perfect though I don’t judge.

SHIKI FASHION SHOW FOR THE CURE

October is breast cancer awareness month and each year, avatars in Second Life use their creativity and generosity to help raise money for the American Cancer Society through the wonderful charity Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Shiki Fashion For the Cure is a breast cancer charity fashion event supporting Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

Shinichi Mathy, Designer and Owner of Shiki has graciously pledged to donate 50% of all proceeds of his exclusive new clothing line created specifically for this event to the cause. The fabulous fashions showcased will be available for purchase at the event.

The event takes place at our fabulous state of the art venue created by Mr. Ewan Crumb exclusively for this event.

Help us build a great body of work by sharing your Shiki pics – and celebrate by joining our Shiki Summer Snapshot contest! Be as creative as you like and submit your photos to the flickr group and be in to win some great prizes including an exclusive outfit, and $5000L to spend in store!

Entering is easy. Join the Shiki design flickr group, and start adding your pics…
1: You must be wearing a Shiki design item from our 2011 Spring/Summer collection. Mix it with anything you like – another Shiki, another season, another store – get creative with your style.
2: Set the scene – find your space, and strike a pose. Take a great pic and share it with the group!
3: Name yourself/your models and mark it as “Shiki Summer Snapshot Entry”

Conditions:
– You must join “Shiki Designs” in-world group

This Summer Opium Fashion Agency are proud to be working alongside with O-Glamour INC to bring you Miami Fashion Week 2011, Mirroring Mercedez Benz Fashion Week, held in July in Real life.

FASHION CALENDAR: Siren Productions Presents Shiki in the City 3/27 6PM SLT

Tired of the long, cold, bitter winter Shiki is ready to bring a little spring to the city! March 27th, 2009 6-7pm SL Shiki in cooperation with Siren Productions will bring their Spring/Summer collection to the city streets. Shinichi brings his hip, chic, and stylish sensibility to both Men & Women creating a collection full of brilliant colors, clean lines, bold patterns, and earthy sensibility.

Shiki will be releasing the ENTIRE collection for one day only March 27th. After this the collection will disappear and release a few pieces at a time over the next several months.

The only way it could get better, the entire collection will be on sale at a special event pricing of 20% Off. This is a sale you do not want to miss out on! Get your favorite outfits from the runway show at a discount and before they are officially released.
