SCRUPLZ Magazine Premiere Issue Available Now

That is the gorgeous Linnda Scofield on the cover of the Premiere Issue.

Scruplz is a new publishing company in Second Life whose mission is to provide photographers/artists/designers and anyone associated with graphics in Second Life with fair, honest and credible professional events. Part of this effort includes a professional monthly publication in which events and products will be promoted to the Second Life community at large. The publishing group consists of two of Second Life’s most renowned photographers, Cherie Parker and Barney Roundel. In addition two of Second Life’s best business minds Mallory Luke, and Emma Portilo combine to make Scruplz one of the most well rounded, talent laden new companies to arrive on the scene in Second Life.

Scruplz will be launching it’s first publication starting May 2010. The publication will feature art and photography of unparalleled, unique, and captivating beauty and style, bringing virtual art to the virtual forefront. Also featured in the publication will be a wide variety of contests and competitions from all walks of virtual life.

The exciting initial release will be distributed to thousands of readers. It will be offered on there website at www.scruplz.com, at www.issuu.com/Scruplz, and in the format of an in world publication.

Have you always wanted to be featured in a Second Life magazine?
If so, then this is your chance!? Each month, YourStyle Magazine will be picking out four of the best photo submissions for our monthly contest.

What do you need to do to participate??

1. Join the YourStyle Group on Flickr? http://www.flickr.com/groups/1283225@N25/

2. Take a photograph of yourself depicting the current theme. It has to be a half-body or full-body shot.

3. This is a creative contest so show your BEST and MOST FLATTERING photos. You may edit and style your photos using a graphics editing software or seek the help of a photographer/stylist (this may cost you service fees).

4. No pornographic images

5. No company name/s on the photographs

6. Pictures must be placed in our Flickr group: YourStyle April Contest

Maniera Magazine is seeking a new cover model for April 2010! This contest is open to the entire community. Enter for the chance to be featured on the cover of Maniera Magazine, one of Second Life’s top fashion and lifestyle magazines now in its second year of publication with over 30,000 readers. Maniera cover models will also receive a two page article and photoshoot spotlighting them in their career, interests and Second Lives within the magazine.

All applicants must be part of Maniera’s new community group My Maniera which will be consolidating our readership groups into a single location. We will be releasing the cover model announcement there on the 14th.

All applicants must be available for interview and photoshoots between the 15th and the 20th of March. If you are unavailable during this time, please do not apply.

.::. THE CHALLENGE .::.

The Harajuku Station in Tokyo, Japan is one of the most well-known sites for unique street fashion in the world. Modern day Harajuku as a district traces its roots back to the end of World War II when U.S. soldiers and their families occupied the area. Seeking to learn more about the foreign culture, Japanese youth flocked to this area. These youth would begin the process of placing Harajuku on the international radar as a fashion capital for designers producing street fashion. In modern day, thousands of people gather at Jingu Bride on Sundays which connects Harajuku to the Meiji Shrine to display their fashion styles.

Harajuku involves many different styles. Two of the more well known are Gothic Lolita and Visual Kei. For this contest, please choose one of the two styles and submit a photo in that style with this application.

This contest is open to male and female applicants.
