Catalyst of Fantasy “Adopt A Family” Model Casting Call

Catalyst of Fantasy Millenium is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Adopt A Family Benefit .

Catalyst of Fantasy Millenium is not a modeling agency, but has been created for the sole purpose of this benefit, by Lacie Beningborough.

This benefit is to take place on December 21, 2010 at 1 PM SLT at the new Patch Thibaud Auditorium.

There will be one rehearsal on December 20, 2010 @ 4 PM SLT to go over the simple walk and to hand out clothing .

Christmas is coming and for many of us, it is a time of joy, family, happiness and cheer. We look forward to seeing family and friends, to laughter, and   togetherness.

For some though, the holiday season is a time filled with stress and worry. These difficult  economic times that we live in bring that much more stress to this time of year.

That is why I have founded the Adopt  A Family Benefit.

This began in November of 2009, when it was brought to my attention that a family was in very dire need that year. They were in jeopardy of losing everything, the husband had just lost his job and she had two chronically ill children.

I was so saddened by this that I began this  benefit for her.

In three weeks, to my astonishment, we were able to raise a tremendous amount of  USD for this family.

I said it would become a tradition, and , with that promise behind me, I am back to do it again this year.

This time I would like to help more than one family. I would like to help as many families as I possibly can.

I approached Mr. Frolic Mills about this and he has donated the Patch Thibaud Auditorium and the possible inclusion of the new MISS VIRTUAL WORLD alongside with the contest’s finalists.

“Since we don’t know who they will be yet, we can’t confirm the assistance of them all, but we will do our best.” He said.

We are hoping this will be an opportunity to see the newly crowned queen in her first show !

How awesome is that?

Now this is where you come in.

I need designers, models, and an assistant to help me pull this together.

Designers :

All items must be donated, as this is a charity event.

This is an excellent opportunity for up and coming designers to work along side established ones and to have their work seen by  the fashionistas of SL

If you could please create a one time only design specifically for this event, or an as yet to be released design that would be ideal. Alternatively, you can re-release a design that you have already made in new textures, colours etc. Just so long as it is exclusive to this benefit, it will be perfect.  If you could commit to 3 garments each for this show that would be ideal.  All designers will, of course, be given full credit .

These designs will be  auctioned off to raise money for this benefit.

I need hair, skins, clothing for both male and female , jewelry and shoe sponsors.

The models will put together a “look” for each creation, and then everything in that folder will be auctioned; clothing, hair, skin, shoes, jewelry, all of it.

Please send a notecard with your name and the clothing you will be donating to me as soon as you possibly can, so that I can get on with casting.

All designs should be submitted TRANS/NO COPY so that the models can give the folders out to the auction winners .

Models: This is an UNPAID  job as this is a charity event, but it will look amazing on your resume.

I would love to get all former Catalyst of Fantasy models together again for this benefit, but the casting is open to all.
If you are interested, please send me a -notecard- with your name and I will inform you of the date and place of the casting call. Please  DO NOT IM me, as they get capped daily. I will not get your message. NOTECARD ONLY.   Please make sure you have one group space open and are able to make the rehearsal and show  🙂

Assistant:   I will need an assistant who  is comfortable working with the professionals in SL, can approach  designers, entertainers, etc., is tactful and polite and has a strong business background. You must be able to work with a minimum of supervision, and be available daily to check in with me .  This is clearly a un-paid and temporary position, but it will be greatly appreciated by all of us involved in this benefit.  Must have an excellent command of the english language and excellent writing skills.

Again, NOTECARD ONLY please

Nominees:  If you know of someone who is experiencing financial difficulty this holiday season and would like to submit them for this benefit, please send me a notecard with their avatar name, a brief description of why you feel they would be good candidates for this, and your full avatar name. Your name will not be released to the person you nominate, unless you have given express permission to do so in a no mod notecard, created and signed by you.

All monies will be supervised and accounted for by myself and an independant third party.

Please consider to take part in this wonderful opportunity to give back to those around us that make our lives so rich.

I look forward to hearing from you very soon.

Warmest regards,

Lacie Beningborough.

I am already signed up to model for this event as well as several well known models. It is a great charity to help a fellow SL Model in need. I was involved in this charity last year and it was a success. Please help if you can. Thanks…………. RicoRacer Flux

PS: SEND all notecards to Lacie Beningborough for consideration.

It is with great pleasure to announce our latest Confessions Model Spotlight of one the fastest excelling female models in the SL modeling industry, namely Emma Portilo.

In a short period of time, Emma has emerged well within the SL modeling industry boasting incredible experience in many different avenues of the modeling and fashion industry. Amongst it, Emma has enjoyed much time as a JCNY Showcase Model between June – December 2009 and the prospects of Emma taking out the monthly Model’Fest competition look incredibly high.

One of Emma’s biggest accomplishments is her work for Opium Fashion Agency for which she operates as a General Manager in the Blogging Division. OFA is one of the most active and profound agencies which largely precedes the walls of Second Life through its fashion blog. From this, Emma has proven herself an integral asset for OFA and much great success is premised on her hard work and natural drive.

We invited Emma to participate in this spotlight and here is what she had to say. We would like to congratulate Emma for being the current model spotlight for CSLTM and wish her all the very best for her career!

1. Please tell us about yourself how you ventured into the modelling industry.
I came into Second Life in March of 2009 and took up exploring, making friends, and surfing. However, I have always had an interest in modeling and knew there had to be to it than just being another pretty face because everyone can be pretty in Second Life. Not sure of what I was getting myself into, I entered a calendar contest for Surf Love and won a spot as Miss December 2009. At the same time I was selected as a JCNY Showcase Model of the week. That was in June. While on the runway at JCNY, I met many models, some experienced, some not. I learned a lot from the models that week and it both inspired and fueled my desire to go into modeling. Shortly thereafter I enrolled in a modeling school, Mimmi Boa Modeling Academy, where my passion for modeling truly took root and continued to grow and develop.

2. Please tell us about some of your accomplishments within the modelling industry and describe what would be one of the most defining moments of your modelling career.
I have been selected for numerous shows and won many contests since I began modeling. I feel very proud of each and every one of the accomplishments I have achieved. I am currently a General Manager for Opium Fashion Agency, an instructor for Opium Elite Fashion Academy, a model for several agencies including Opium Fashion Agency, Give it a Swirl, My Precious Modeling Group, Evane Models, Catalyst of Fantasy, and Team Edos. However, one of the most defining moments for me was my first runway show which was the Something Blue Love & Marriage Expo show. It was my first runway show and gave me that little boost of experience every model needs to be successful. It enabled me to move on to more and more runway shows, meet more and more people, and expand my experience and career. Since that show I have been in dozens of runway shows, numerous print ads, won the DC District Model Discovery search, am a Miss *LA* Beauty pagent winner, a Catalyst of Fantasy Model of the Month, and am in the top 20 for the Miss Bliss Couture 2010 title.

3. You have certainly established yourself well within the modelling industry. Please tell us what you believe are the essential elements to being a successful model. Do you have any advice for aspiring models?
I believe nothing surpasses experience, knowledge and a well equipped computer. Plainly stated, you have to have the technology to be able to cope with the increasingly high demands of the modeling world. The better your computer, the easier it is for you as a model. That being said, you have to have the knowledge to know what you are doing and nothing gains knowledge faster than becoming educated through a modeling school. Following that education, the experience you gain by repeatedly styling, selecting poses, and actually walking the runway are not only rewarding, but definitely priceless.

Some of the best advice that I received was from my instructor, Sequoia Nightfire, was to always be ready. Learn to style at a moment’s notice, have poses organized and prepared, and have a resume and pictures on hand. Being prepared has equipped me to move quickly at times when fast reactions were key to my success.

4. What do you like and dislike about modelling?
I dislike lag!!!! It’s such a huge evil for a model. It’s sometimes very difficult to fight and makes me realize how important it is to do everything you can, as a spectator, to help keep the lag down so the show can go on! I also dislike drama and negative attitudes.

What I like about modeling is everything else! From styling the outfits, to picking poses, to walking down the runway, to meeting so many different people – designers and models. I don’t design at all so it’s such a honor to be able to bring the imaginative designs of others to life on the runway or in front of the camera. It’s all very exciting and I feel so honored to be a part of it all.

5. Finally, please tell us what motivates you to be a model. Who inspires you the most and what is your inspiration?
I am motivated to be a model because I love the lifestyle. I love meeting the people, gaining the experiences in my life, learning new things, and receiving the wonderful creations of designers. As far as who inspires me most, there are so many that do! There are my incredible friends such as Mistina Collins, Grace Whelan, SterlingZen Harbor, Miaa Rebane, Sequoia Nightfire, Ireland Anthony, Liliya Avedon, Anastacia Markova, Kay Fairey, Mimmi Boa and so many others. It seems as though I meet new people on a perpetual basis and it would be really hard to list them all. In addition, all of the amazing and talented designers I have met and have been priviledged to know – from those working their way up in the fashion world to those that are well established, top designers. However, nothing and no one inspires and supports me more than my partner, Maxwell Silvansky. I can honestly say without his support, I would not be where I am today. He encourages me when I am down, lifts me up when I have failed, and is behind me 100% through thick and thin. He is truly the reason I have the strength to keep going on bad days and he always sees the beauty that is me, the real me behind the avatar, the beauty I try to show through my avatar. He believes in me and gives me strength to believe in myself even when others may try to bring me down.

Please help us congratulate Emma once again by commenting below! It is thoroughly deserved and we look forward to seeing Emma within the industry indefinitely!

CONFESSIONS NEWS REEL: A New Tradition at Catalyst of Fantasy Agency

I have always said that CoF is a family and I have always been so blessed when I have seen you all rally around someone who was down and needed a hug, or some encouragement, or some help on the runway. You guys have ALWAYS been there to help out .

We are a new company on the grid, but because of you we have made it a long way and are looking at the top. I am stunned when I see the dedication all of you bring to your job here .

Since we are young, we haven’t had a chance to develop any CoF traditions yet, but I would like to start one now.

The recession has hit many of us very hard. We have families and need to tighten our belts. One thing we can do is come to SL and play and enjoy the company of freinds here who we may have never met in RL but that doesn’t make them any less dear to us. We make friendships here that last a lifetime and we grow as human beings in our time here. Who says this is just a game?

Well, it has come to my attention, that one of CoF’s own is in terrible need this holiday season. They have been hit hard by the recession and , they have been brought to their knees. I only found out at all because that person IM’d me to let me know to expect them to disspear for a while because they might be losing their internet access and their family is facing eviction. They have small children and have been trying to very hard to keep up but the recession has hit them very very badly.

We both cried during this conversation and then I had a flash of brilliance! Why not help them??????? D’UH!!!!!

So , I approached a scripter and got some tip jars made that are transfer and pay to me.

I am calling this ADOPT A FAMILY ..and that’s what we are doing. We are going to adopt this family for Christmas.

XD !!!

So , I have 9 tip jars available….if you DJ or own a club, please consider taking one of these to rez and letting people know it is going to a worthy cause.

I know who this person is, and so do a few people that are close to us. This is not a scam, this is the real deal so any help would be appreciated.

December 22 from 4 – 7 PM SLT is our CoF FAMILY CHRISTMAS PARTY! WOOT !!!!!

I have brought in 3 live bands…….

Blue4U Nowicka @ 4 pm
Noma Falta @ 5 PM
and Edward Koyomoon @ 6 PM SLT

I also have a small gift for everyone to just say thank you for all your hard work and dedication to CoF through all of our first year struggles. Without you, CoF would have folded a long time ago, so PLEASE come , wearing your fav Santa or Elf suit or your Christmas finery.

Then I had another brilliant flash of genius. LOLOLOL.

What if, during this party, since the bands will have followers anyway, we offered up some CoF models for auction to raise money for the Adopt a Family this year???????

So that’s what we are going to do.

Butterfli Sorbet, a Miss VW finalist and CoF’s own has offered herself up for auction and so has Mikey Batriani.
OMG 2 super hot models …. drools! No you don’t have to offer a date, you can offer photography if you do that, or modeling lessons, or a makeover, personal shopper and take them to your fav stores, or anything at all. Be creative.

l.ease consider helping us raise money for this truely wonderful family.
This is a short video of who you are helping this year 🙂

Given with their consent BTW 🙂

CoF is putting up a full scholarship, beginner and advanced classes.

That’s one item.

The other thing that CoF is going to do is match…linden for linden, every dollar raised during this auction. Now is your chance to hit CoF where it hurts the most! The wallet!!! HAHAHAHAHAH

You guys are the best so please consider helping this family out. If you knew who it was you would fall over yourselves to help them as this person is so sweet and so loved and would do anything for anyone.

Also, this is going to be a yearly tradition……. CoF will adopt a family every year in November and raise money to help them out. YAY YOU! So you can all keep your eyes and ears open to submit families next year to help and of course, it is strictly confidential. No one will know who it is , not even themselves, until they are given the lindens from us. Then , if they choose to tell people that is up to them. They never need make it known if they are not comfortable with that.

What do you think? Great idea?

This is the season of love and kindness toward our fellow man. Let’s help our family and pull together. Volunteer to auction. Take a tip jar to your club or where you DJ.
Make a bid or a donation. Any amount will do.

Let’s pull together and make a RL difference !

If you are interested in volunteering for the auction, please send MIKEY BATRIANI a notecard telling him what you are willing to put up.

Might be a good time to have a yard sale too and dump all those transfer things in your inventory that you will never use. HEY GREAT IDEA. ! I HAVE A TON OF STUFF. If anyone is willing to organize this please IM me and let me know.

Thanks guys.

Come to the party on December 22 from 4 – 7 pm slt and lets come together as a family one last time this year.

I truly do love you guys.

Lacie Benigborough
