RICORACER FLUX “The Journey”: It’s been a while since I posted something about my journey into the SL world of fashion. I have taken a little break from doing runway shows due to a very busy schedule but I really had fun doing Miami Fashion Week: SyS Show where the models are old robots and mannequins in a conveyor built waiting to be repaired or discarded. A very innovative idea from OGLAM/OPIUM Agencies. Been doing a lot of “Print” jobs including upcoming works such as AUGUST FINESMITH DESIGNS advertisement, BOSL August Issue SHAN Spread, The Fashion Teller “Seven Deadly Sins”, Maniera Magazine shoot, OGLAM Ad and a lot of store vendor pictures. What else is new? Recently got invited as a model to join D’IOR Modeling Agency, OGLAM, Costa Rica Sims Production, FINESMITH Models and the upcoming BVLD Model Agency. I’m truly honored and grateful.
Aside from modeling, my time is usually consumed these days producing The Fashion Teller “Seven Deadly Sins” storybook featuring FINESMITH Designs. I am really excited about this gorgeous project and we are getting ready to shoot. I write articles for SL magazines as well with my latest article released by BeStyle called “Unpretty” about the dark side of modeling. I’m also planning my SL Wedding to Editorial Clarity next month and it is going to be huge and amazing. Sorry, can’t say more or Edi will kill me. ;p lol.
I will also be launching in the near future a charity/awareness project called “STAND FOR LOVE” promoting visibility for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Awareness in SL. I wish there is no need for this but it saddens me that there are still a lot of gay teens committing suicides. Many gay people are still facing violence and discrimination. And Are you kidding me that Gay People Can’t Still Marry??? I will be doing this with my partner, Editorial Clarity and very close friends: Zachary Zufreur, Lovely Miwako, Tyler Barineaux, Celestial Lunasea and many more. Rules:

1a- if the picture isnt renamed with your name, you wont be counted in, no exceptions, so double check before sending the picture to me!

2- The picture must show a pose from Morgane Batista Poses Shop only, freebie or not.
3- Only 1 contestant can enter per picture (if you do a group picture, choose who enters the contest)

Thank you for your interest in joining the staff of Opium Elite Fashion Academy.
We value our instructors, models, and students very much and only want the
best of the best! Please read thoroughly through this information to determine
if you are suitable for an instructor position. More information about courses will
be given to you upon hiring.
Remember, we need instructors from all different timezones to cater to our
students needs to feel free to apply no matter what timezone.
OEFA offers three different course types: Modeling 101 (basic), Advanced, and
Elite. We also offer a mix ‘n’ match option where students can customize their
course to their needs.
Our Modeling 101 class is typically taught one on one but will occasionally be
taught as a group class depending on instructor availability and class sizes.
This course is designed for new models whom have little to no experience in
the modeling industry. Students will participate in a graduation runway show.
Next is the Advanced modeling class which is taught in a group class setting. It
focuses on models who want to hone their runway skills. Students will participate
in a graduation runway show. NO INSTRUCTORS CURRENTLY NEEDED.
Lastly, the Elite modeling class which is six 1 hour long lectures where different
fashion professionals will speak about different aspects of the modeling/fashion
industry. The instructor position for this class will be speaking for one of the hour
lectures and to handle student evaluations at the end of each lecture. Students will
produce their whole graduation show. Instructors will be hand chosen by Anastacia
and Grant. NO INSTRUCTORS CURRENTLY NEEDED.
There are a few different things each instructor will be required to do during and
after each class.
Each instructor will be required to give out homework all class times as instructed
on the teacher curriculum.
Instructors will also need to fill out evaluations for each student after every class
time. We will give you the form and it is to be returned to Anastacia Markova and
Grant Valeska.
Following the course guidelines is a MUST. We want all of our graduates to have an
even education. You may add certain topics if you feel the need to and you may
remove topics if the student has already learned it.
Each instructor will recieve 50% of each student’s admission, so getting students
in depends not only on OEFA staff but also on you!
And remember, we run a TOP NOTCH modeling academy, with some of SL’s top
models coming from us, we expect you to be 110% dedicated and to have ample
time to devote to teaching and assisting future models.

THE ESSENCE OF EBONY CONTEST was designed to recognize aspiring women of color through out history and the modern woman of today. The contest will recognize your beauty and your upcoming achievements here in sl. In honor of Black history month ( February) we want to honor you.
This Pageant seeks to give young, talented Ebony women a platform to impact their SL communities while gaining grid wide exposure. It is an opportunity for these newer Ebony models to obtain a sense of well-being and self-confidence by competing for a prestigious title that will continue to enhance their second lives.
MISSION STATEMENT:
The mission of Miss Essence of Ebony Contest is to identify, develop, and promote awareness of Ebony Models within Second Life.
This mission is served through intensive contestant development and by working with our contestant/models on a continuous basis by providing scholarships and ongoing training. This pageant was developed to celebrate the many shapes, sizes, colors, and textures of women of EBONY descent and to provide a forum for those women to showcase their talents.
The spirit of this contest is for the fun and enjoyment of the contestants and to promote and impact cultural awareness . The rules are designed to promote fair play and good will.

One certain thing in both our real and second lives is that change is a certainty, and today, we at AVENUE Magazine are embracing something new with the stepping down of Isadora Fiddlesticks, who has served our publication as Managing Editor, and also with the promotion of our new Editor in Chief, Sensuous Soulstar. Isadora has been an important part of the AVENUE family for several years, and she leaves her position having made many significant contributions for which we are so very grateful. We wish her much happiness and good fortune on her journey to come, but are pleased to announce that she will remain a part of the AVENUE family and may return to contribute again in the future.
AVENUE is pleased to announce the well-deserved promotion of Sensuous Soulstar to Editor in Chief. Sensuous came to AVENUE two years ago bringing with her a plethora of real life and virtual world experience in journalism and management. She began as a writer and was soon promoted to senior writer, and most recently, she has excelled in her role as General Manager. Sensuous possesses a real world communications and publishing background, having journalism experiences that include working as part of the newspaper staff during her university years at Howard University, as well as performing as a regular contributor to the Law Review during her law school years. Currently employed in the legal field, Sensuous enjoys the creative opportunities presented to her through her work with AVENUE Magazine. When asked about her future plans at AVENUE Magazine, Sensuous offered this: “As for my plans, I intend to continue the outstanding legacy that AVENUE has created. We will continue to provide readers with the most current trends in fashion, the most talented artists in SL and RL, the best places to call home, and of course continue to salute those that are in SL for a higher cause. I will continue to keep an open rapport with the staff and hope to remain a liaison between the staff and management, as that’s been one of my favorite aspects of my work as General Manager. I don’t know what the future holds for me, but I do know that the future looks incredibly blessed for AVENUE, and I’m grateful to be a part of that future.”

There has been a strange commotion this night at deviousMind sim, excited voices everywhere, press, flashlights… the exact circumstances are not quite certain; it might be, that the busy chiefs of police are too involved in investigations to issue a statement. The silhouette of the abandoned buildings created an air of dark mystery and smelled of stale despair….jutting up over the horizon of bleak emptiness, they stood like crooked, old soldiers, devoid of feeling or life. Any resemblance of warmth or light has long since gone, with the citizens of this once bustling metropolis…..or have they?
As your eyes move around the desolate landscape, strewn with old boxes and garbage and adjust to the deafening darkness of this abyss, you start to make out shapes, or do you? Your pulse races and your heartbeat quickens…it no longer feels like you’re alone.
A shape emerges, framed yet not lifeless, motionless but still breathing, artwork and fashion merged, to become one in this dark and abandoned world…….your eyes focus on the framed artwork
