  1. While I am never one to condone cruelty to animals, any in-depth look into PETA and it’s founder Ingrid Newkirk would show that PETA neither cares about the welfare of animals, and worse, is a serious sponsor of domestic terrorism.

I recently watched a documentary/ biography on Ms. Newkirk (Biography Channel, hardly an ax to grind there, in fact it was an attempt to flatter Ms. Newkirk, but she succeeds in coming across as what she truly is), and what clearly came thru in the program, was how truly disturbed this woman is. Unable to maintain human relations, seething with anger, and in one instance cavalierly tossing a dead bird under a bush as her attempt at a ‘dignified” end to this dead animal (of course, the carcass of the dead bird will attract other animals to the side of this busy 4 lane highway, thereby endangering other animals).

The cause of animal rights, with all do respect to delicious spring lambs, big tasty beef cattle and juicy little chickens, is so far beneath the rights of humans, that to condone an organization like PETA, that has damaged and/or destroyed 100’s of millions of dollars of private property is reckless and irresponsible.

Learn the facts about PETA, learn the facts about Ms. Newkirk and her surfer-dude co-founder and what you will find is far more disturbing than the treatment of animals raised and bred solely as food and clothing. If you look at the treatment of farm-rasied animals, versus the realities of life in the wild (ever seen a deer ripped to pieces by a pack of coyotes?) you see that Ms. Newkirk is simply a seriously disturbed person that knows nothing about the true nature of animals, and the harsh realities of animals in the wild.

If you care about animals, wish to support animal rights (as i do) there are other organizations that do not condone Al Quaeda-esque policies.

Ms. Newkirk (you would expect) was on her best behavior during the filming of her biography. If that is her “best behavior” you can only imagine how she actually operates on a day-to-day basis. Her raving tirades, her outright disrespect for the dignity of animals and her own endangering of other animals proves that PETA and Ms. Newkirk niether cares, nor quite frankly, KNOWS anything about animals. She neither conducts herself nor her organization in any way, shape or form that I will EVER condone. The sooner PETA is disbanded, and the sooner Ms. Newkirk is put in jail (Guantanamo?) the better off animals everywhere will be.

Get the facts on PETA and its “ethical” treatment of humans.

  2. I am a huge advocate against animal cruelty and write about it quite often in RL 🙂 I also very rarely wear leather and items made from animals and always try to shop from cruelty free companies. I am glad that this issue is coming into virtual world and that Maniera is sponsoring this issue that is very dear to my heart.

btw… you guys look hot! sexi mamas and papas 🙂

  3. I am a big animal rights supporter. I am not a vegetarian nor do I spray paint on people’s fur coats but I stand up against animal abuse. How can people not support the rights of animals when they can’t stand up for themselves? Can someone really be heartless enough to turn away from a dog being beaten or any animal being tested on? I am happy to see that someone brought PETA awareness in Second Life. Thank you.

  4. I am glad that someone is finally bringing PETA awareness in Second Life which is global. I don’t agree with most of PETA’s tactics such as harrasing celebrities but the basic premise of saving and protecting animal rights are worth fighting for. WAY TO GO MANIERA MAGAZINE! I have greater respect for you.
