CONFESSIONS AGENCY SPOTLIGHT: ModelX

untitled
ModelX is a modeling agency in Second Life led by top model heavyweight Linnda Scofield who herself carries an extensive portfolio exerting experience, glamour and professionalism. To name a few, Linnda Scofield is a model hired by Avenue, BeStyle for which she is also a Public Relations Manager, Evane, SW&MB Productions, Modavia and Diversity for which she is a also a mentor.

According to Linnda, “fashion is a term usually used in a positive sense, as a synonym for glamour, beauty and style. ModelX is a modeling agency inside Secondlife that wants to express there selfs in these synonyms”. We couldn’t agree more 🙂

We interviewed Linnda in her capacity as ModelX’s agency CEO and here’s what she had to say.

Q: What attributes must a model possess in order to gain admission into your agency?
First i always start with a good attitude/personality. Be professional, have patients and the most importent is respect the designers and the other models.
They must be sure that they know what modeling meens. It isnt a just a job at sl but it something big. We want to see passion for fashion and modeling in a model. It isnt just a job and being there for them selfs but they are the mannequin, the model, the one who will show the viewers what the outfits, skins, accessories, shoes, etc will look like on a live avatar. This is an important concept to remember, you are not modeling for yourself, you are there to help sell and promote someone’s label.

Q: Is a potential candidate for your agency required to undertake training specifically with your model academy?
No absolutely not! We hire new recruits and models who are longer in the industry. At ModelX we give runway practices and even teach some basic lessons with tips and tricks so the models know all about the industry and make sure they will be good enough to be a model for other agency’s also. We are doing these classes for free, because why shouldnt we teach others what we know. We dont forse models to take courses, but we do check if they have already any skils and will help them when needed. We also tell them it isnt wrong to join other academy’s also because you will always learn ( i name academy’s like avenue and evane).

Q:There is a general perception amongst models that some agencies only hire those who have established a reputable name for themselves, whether it be with a top-tier agency or otherwise. Is this important to you? Model training aside, are you willing to take a chance on a model who is new to the industry?
I must say i dont care about names. Its all about the willing to be a model and having the right attitude. Yes we have some, likes others call them, big names but we also have models nobody have heart from. It makes me smiles when i see models we trained back at other agency’s and see how they are the new topmodel in the industry and believe me we got them.
